From Boundary to Core: Microsegmentation and eXtended Threat Intelligence

IGLOO Corporation

BoHyeong Son, Head of Security Operations Center (SOC)

For a long time, our security investments, as evaluated today, have predominantly focused on perimeter security. This approach was not inherently flawed; historically, both traditional and contemporary attacks frequently targeted the "gates" of our defenses. Defenders, in turn, diligently employed every available measure to repel these external aggressors.

However, attack methodologies have evolved. They now seem to mock our conventional defenses, easily infiltrating our internal systems and achieving their objectives. This raises a critical question: how well-equipped is our current security to counter intrusions that originate or proliferate within our internal network?

At this pivotal moment, we must acknowledge the urgent need for a comprehensive security re-assessment. It is no longer sufficient to merely depend on isolated internal security solutions. Instead, we must establish an expansive security paradigm that holistically integrates both internal and external defense strategies.
